When people talk about life, they often mention the highs and lows. I myself have mentioned quite a few of both. But no one really talks about the middle ground. You know, where you're neither high nor low, just neutral. You live your ordinary life from day to day and nothing really happens. No surprise misfortunes but no sudden windfalls either. Even your feelings can be affected too. You're not happy. You're not sad. You're not angry. You're not even apathetic. You're just...neutral. You might think there's something wrong about that. That no matter what happens you need to be feeling SOMETHING.

But I'm here to tell you that's perfectly fine. We can't all be at emotional peaks all the time. And we don't always move forward in leaps and bounds. I can tell you that some days I accomplish a lot and other days, I have to give it my all just to do one thing. On days like that where there's a whole lot of nothing going on, that's when you look at the big picture. Ask yourself, "Am I still moving forward? Am I doing better than I was before? And do I still have a goal to reach for?"

Do that, and you'll find your next peak eventually.
